Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “wash/awash.” Use one, use both, use ’em any way you like. Bonus points for using both. Enjoy!

once more
a haibun

the pervasive haze of the blue light glimmers and out of that relentless glow your name flickers a brief flash but that’s all it takes to be transported over and out of my head. a flashback. awash as my own body betrays. I succumb to the smoke spewing dragons obscuring and exchanging my reality present for the trauma past creating chemical imbalances chemicals that burn my psyche and my breath catches in panic, as once more I sink trapped under disorder disorder disorder

Let me be! Get out!
Let me wash my hands of you!

Here it goes again...

    1. I agree, that the first step in dealing with a problem is to name the situation, or to shine the light on the situation.
PTSD (all its various forms, which I have)… is an interesting thing on it own. The body takes over, chemicals surge, neurons fire, triggers happen (out of the blue). So, yes, it is always a first step to “label” but then it gets tricky.

      1. I am sorry you have this to deal with. It is a very difficult thing to cope with and live with. The first step helps but as you say thereafter it just gets harder.!! 💜💜

  1. This resonates with me. I think I’ll always wonder what it’s be like not to be trapped under disorder. My fate & now to live with it instead of suffocate under it.

    1. It is always great to hear comments, especially on creative writing. I love to know what resonates with each person (and what doesn’t). Thank you for letting me know and I’m glad something “clicked.” Poetry is fun in that people read their own meanings, layered with the author’s. 🙂 That sounded weird, as I type it but I don’t know how to say it better. 🙂

    1. Thank you for your comment. I was reading the comments from the top down, and (above) WillowDot made a similar comment to yours, so my longer answer is up there. I always love comments! Thanks for taking the time.
