Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “pause/paws.”  Use one, use both, use ’em any way you’d like. Have fun!

A ten minute proto-poem blurt, I will confess that while the rules of SOCS are no editing, I did tweak a couple of lines after I typed them. So, like, shoot me. (Fine, I just edited the first line after publication. I tweak therefore I write…)

The Pause

Extremity—palm up
Every day
Aligned with the horizontal East
I narrow my focus
I bite my lip
I catch my breath
And wait
Willing that magic moment
When night’s dark mystery pauses
Pondering its next move
Every day
Night decides to give way
And let the first light
Creep into the world
Into my reach
So that I can exhale

    1. Yeah, it isn’t like I think Linda will take away my Stream of Consciousness rights! 🙂 But I do try to stay in the parameters most times, to stay in the spirit of the thing. This poem doodle was close but I feel guilty if I don’t fess up. There’s probably a shrink visit in that statement. 🙂
